about

Dutch Courage St. Louis, Missouri

Dutch Courage is the alter-ego of St. Louis based songwriter Andy Puechner, who has been writing and performing his bedroom- folk & pop stylings since the summer of 2003. The music is centered around Puechner's voice & fingerstyle guitar work- melodic hooks are simultaneously barbed and gentle, with lyrics somehow both bitter and sweet, optimistic & wry.

Folk & Pop without fences.

Track Name: Louisa
Tell him, tell him Louisa / If he don't need ya / That there's the door / When he comes back tomorrow / Carrying that sorrow / Better raise the law / Under the covers / Knowing you were lovers / Gonna give him pause / If you see him / Gonna give him reason / Wish that he was yours

Why'd you do that / When he won't do anything / About us?
Track Name: Samba
It's not enough that you're leaving, if you must / So I'll take this, this parting shot across your bow

Did you stop to think that your lips could sink a ship / or that they might be the death of us?

You should look up at the sky / Until beneath the waves we slide / Before the air escapes your lungs / You might remember what you done
